Notes:
Lieutenant Frank Woodnutt King, was the only son of Captain and Mrs. Frank King, of Foquett House, Newport, I.O.W., and was gazetted to the 2nd Battalion The Worcestershire Regiment in August 1921, from the M.G.C. He was for some time in Dublin, Adjutant to the Camp Commandant, Dublin District, and later was appointed Camp Commandant. Following the disbandment of the 3rd and 4th Battalions he was attached to the 2nd Battalion The South Staffordshire Regiment in August, 1922, and was later posted to the 1st Battalion of that Regiment, serving in India. On his way out he underwent an operation for appendicitis which was at first thought successful, but pneumonia intervened, and he died in the Egyptian Government Hospital at Suez on 24th May 1923.
2nd Lieutenant Alfred Donald Hugh Breeze, Son of Alfred Dennant and Mary Ann Bridget Breeze of College View, Plymouth. He was educated at Plymouth College. He was captain of the 1st Rugby team, the 1st cricket 11, and of the "Fives." He was also a member of the Officer Training Corps attached to the college. He was commissioned in to the Worcestershire Regiment from Sandhurst on the 16th July 1920. He joined the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment in Dublin on the 9th June 1921 and was detailed with 7 other officers for 2 months duty at the Castle. On Sunday, 19th June 1921, whilst off duty, he was driving a car, accompanied by family friends Mrs. Roberts and her two sisters when their car was stopped by armed men about 5 p.m. near Carrickmines. 2nd Lieut. Breeze was dragged from the car and shot and then put back in the car. One of the women was then forced to drive the car with the wounded 2nd Lieut. Breeze and some of the armed men. After a short distance 2nd Lieut. Breeze was again taken out of the car and shor dead and his body was left by the road side.
