Lieut.-Colonel Alfred Stanley HENRY, O.B.E.

Commanded the 17th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment from September 1919 to December 1919.

At the start of the First World War he was a Private soldier (25953) with the Montreal Regiment and entered the theatre of war in France during February 1915.

He received a commission in to the 15th Battalion (Transport Workers) South Lancashire Regiment and shortly aftwards given the rank of Major.

On the 16th February 1919 he was given command of the 20th Battalion (Transport Workers) Scottish Rifles.

He Took command of the 17th Battalion on the 18th September 1919 until 3rd December 1919.
