Corporal Henry WHITWELL (19463)
Corporal Henry Whitwell (19463), 9th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment
Died of wounds 2nd February 1917, following the Battle of Kut-Al-Amara which was on the 25th January 1917. At the time he held the rank of Acting Sergeant in 'A' Company.
Before serving in Mesopotamia (Iraq) he was with the Regiment in India.
Henry was born in Worcester and enlisted into the Worcestershire Regiment at Stourbridge.
His bother Thomas was also killed the same year whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion in France.
Son of Mr. Henry Whitwell of 16 Clifton Drive, Aston (formerly of Stourbridge).
