I am interested in finding out if my great-uncle, Pte John T Mills, 7273, was one of the Gheluvelt men. He certainly went overseas with the 2nd Bn in 1914 and was still with them at the time of his death, 15 May 1915 at Festubert.
Because of him I am now in the process of trying to write a book on the battle of Festubert, so he has been an inspiration. I have managed to obtain a thumbnail photo of him from the Bham Weekly Post, in which it mentions his brother Walter has also been wounded in France, but does not mention a regiment. Oh well, you can't have everything.
