Hi, I'm trying to find out more on my Grandfather, Cutherbert George Purchase who was injured on the front in September 1918. Unfortunately his regimental record was one of the many destroyed but we know that he was transferred from the Dorset Yeomanry to the Worcestershire Regiment and saw action and was injured in September 1918. We believe his batallion came under friendly fire and his CO was later awarded a medal for galantry due to the circumstances.
Can anyone tell me which battalions of the Worcestershire Regiments were fighting on the front in Sept 1918? If so, I can hopefully find out where he was stationed and a little more about the battle he was involved in. I do know that he underwent training near to Swindon prior to being sent to the front.
Thanks so much for any help anyone can give.
Linda
